Planning Team kicks-off 2013 tour

Holmes & Hills Solicitors’ Planning & Development Team delivered the first of seven seminars at Hylands House, Chelmsford on Wednesday 25th September, providing an update on Planning Law changes to property, development and planning professionals from across the region.

This year sees the team embark on their fourth annual series of Planning Law Update seminars to be held in Chelmsford, Sudbury, Rochford, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich. The series of seven Updates features two events, one to be held in Essex and one in Suffolk, which are specifically tailored for local authority planning personnel.

In addition to regular speakers David Whipps and Steven Hopkins, this year’s line-up features the newest addition to the team, Tom McPhie, who joined Holmes & Hills in August of this year. Following Tom’s arrival and that of Michael Harman, who also recently joined the Planning & Development Team, Holmes & Hillsnow boasts one of the largest Planning & Development Teams in the region.

Attendees at this year’s Planning Law Updates will hear the speakers’  opinion on a raft of legislative changes and case law developments impacting upon professionals working in the property and construction industries. Topics being covered include:

  • The Growth and Infrastructure Act
  • Amendments to the GPDO
  • Community Assets – procedure, guidance and advice
  • The Proceeds of Crime Act
  • 10 point tidy up
  • Case law update

190 attendees have booked to attend, making Holmes & Hills’ Planning Law seminar series the largest of its kind in the region. Not only do the events provide an annual update on important legislative changes, they also provide an opportunity for those working in related industries to meet and network with other professionals working in the region.
