Planning Law solicitors ranked among the best in the region

Holmes & Hills Solicitors’ Planning Law Team has once again been recognised by the Legal 500 as a leading provider of Planning Law services across the region. The team advises and acts for a number of local authorities as well as regional and national landowners and developers. The Legal 500 is an independent directory of the UK’s best law firms and is published annually.

The team, led by Steven Hopkins has been placed as a tier two provider of planning law advice with a number of solicitors individually recognised for their expertise. As well as being recommended in the Legal 500, the Planning Team have been ranked by Planning Magazine as one of the nation’s top 50 providers of planning law services as well as being recognised by Chambers & Partners, an independent directory of the UK’s top law firms.

The Legal 500 states: Holmes & Hills is 'a strong regional player that punches above its weight and is very well resourced'. Michael Harman successfully defended Tendring District Council in an appeal against the issue of an enforcement notice as a result of the refusal of two applications for a certificate of lawful existing use or development. Other highlights included advising an individual in a modification of a restrictive covenant in order to allow the client planning permission for the construction of a mansion and two executive homes on a site located in the Essex Suffolk borders. Practice head Steven Hopkins is 'first-rate; he is experienced, highly capable and has extensive planning knowledge'. David Whipps is 'excellent with clients has a deep understanding of planning policy and law'.
