Commercial property solicitors ranked among best in the region

Holmes & Hills’ team of commercial property solicitors has been recognised as one of the leading teams of solicitors in Essex for the supply of advice and representation regarding commercial property matters, including for owners and occupiers of commercial buildings, as well as those acquiring or disposing of land, for development, agricultural use or otherwise.

Led by Rebecca Mason, Partner, Holmes & Hills’ Commercial Property Team has been recognised by the Legal 500 as a leading source of advice and representation relating to Commercial Property matters for several years but in the 2018 edition has been ranked higher than in any previous year recognising the firm’s growth, as well as the complexity and volume of work being dealt with. The Legal 500 is an independently published directory of the top law firms in the UK, covering a number of different specialist areas of the law.

The Legal 500 says of the team:

“The ‘highly responsive, knowledgeable, pragmatic and practical‘ commercial property department at ‘dynamic and modern firm‘ Holmes & Hills is considered to be ‘excellent in all respects‘ and ‘among the best practices to deal with‘, ‘offering sound advice which is always up to date on recent developments in the law‘.”

Commenting on the news, Rebecca Mason said:

“The team and I are pleased to have been recognised as one of the leading teams of commercial property solicitors in Essex. I have the pleasure of working with extremely experienced, pragmatic and diligent colleagues, collectively servicing clients which are undertaking a wide range of complex and exciting projects and transactions. The team has grown in recent years, servicing existing clients that are increasingly active, as well as many new commercial clients from a wide range of industries. We look forward to continuing to work closely with our network of specialist property and land professionals in support of our clients’ commercial property activities over the coming year.”

Rebecca Mason, who is personally recommended by the Legal 500, acts for a range of regional developers and a large number of land owners, advising them on site acquisition, disposal and tailored, complex development agreements, including option agreements, conditional sale contracts, collaboration agreements and land promotion agreements, as well as consortium agreements where adjoining land owners enter into an arrangement to attract a purchaser or secure a sale.

Key members in Rebecca Mason’s team include Michael Wright who has a wealth of experience dealing with the most complex of development land matters, as well as having expertise in foreshore matters. Michael is described as ‘always an excellent source of advice’ by the Legal 500 2018. Also in the team is Wendy Martin, Associate, who deals with a wide range of commercial landlord and tenant matters, regularly dealing with highly active national fast-food, restaurant and gym franchise owners. Philippa Jerram is described as being ‘especially recommend for commercial conveyancing cases and agricultural property transactions’. All three additional senior members of the team are individually recommended by the Legal 500 for their expertise.

The Commercial Property Team’s senior solicitors are collectively assisted by a team consisting of commercial property support lawyers, trainee commercial property solicitors and several commercial legal secretaries.
