Holmes & Hills continues to invest in future talent as three trainees qualify

Holmes & Hills is pleased to announce that three of its trainee solicitors have qualified and will continue their careers with the firm.

Jakob Puntschart, Fiona Cursons and Tara Woodley have successfully completed their training contracts and now join three of the firm’s growing specialist teams as newly qualified solicitors.

Jakob joins the Inheritance Disputes Division, led by Rachel Shaw, in the firm’s Sudbury office. Fiona joins the Construction Department at the A12 Commercial Hub, while Tara joins the Family Law Department at the firm’s new Private Client Hub in Marks Tey.

During their training contracts, Jakob, Fiona and Tara have gained experience across different departments and worked closely with colleagues throughout the firm. They have also had the opportunity to work directly with clients, take on increasing responsibility and develop the practical skills needed for life as a qualified solicitor.

Their qualification follows last year’s successful intake, which saw four trainees qualify into the firm’s Private Client, Clinical Negligence and Serious Injury, and Dispute Resolution Departments.

Supporting the next generation of solicitors

Training and developing future lawyers remains an important part of Holmes & Hills’ plans for the future.

The firm has a positive track record of retaining trainees following qualification, with many choosing to continue their careers at Holmes & Hills. A number of the firm’s senior lawyers and partners also began their careers with the firm as trainees.

As the routes into the profession continue to change, Holmes & Hills is developing opportunities through both training contracts and solicitor apprenticeships. Whichever route someone takes, the focus remains on providing good-quality work, proper support and the opportunity to develop within the firm.

Lawrence Pearce, Training Partner at Holmes & Hills, commented:

“Qualifying as a solicitor is a huge milestone, and I am really pleased for Jakob, Fiona and Tara. They have each worked incredibly hard and should be proud of everything they have achieved.

“One of the most rewarding parts of being Training Partner is seeing how much people develop from their first day as a trainee to the point at which they are ready to qualify. We want our trainees to feel supported, but also to be challenged, given real responsibility and encouraged to develop their own confidence and way of working.

“It is particularly pleasing that all three will be staying with Holmes & Hills and continuing their careers here. Their qualifications are thoroughly deserved, and I look forward to seeing what they achieve next.”
