The Accounts Assistant (Purchase Ledger) role

The Accounts Assistant (Purchase Ledger) role is in a busy accounts team assisting the firm with the various high-volume accounts processes.   This role is based in our new A12 Commercial HUB at Marks Tey.  This is a part time role working 5 days, 16-20 hours per week.  The hours can be flexible, but the role will provide lunchtime cover for the Accounts Team (1-2 pm) each day.

The day to day

  • Purchase ledger
  • Ensure all invoices have the necessary authorisation to pay
  • Attach relevant delivery notes/purchase order information
  • Code all invoices
  • Process invoices on Accounts System
  • Issue cheques/BACS payments to creditors
  • Check statements to ensure all payments have been processed
  • Monthly billing on behalf of the firm.
  • Stationary Orders – firmwide
  • Processing Card Payments
  • Confirming bank details with clients as required
  • Posting Land Registry charges
  • Ad hoc Accounts tasks and general enquiries

What experience do I need?

  • Previous experience of accounts processes and administrative duties.

What Skills do I need?

  • Numerate and Accurate
  • Attention to detail
  • Team Player with good communication and interpersonal skills
