The Agricultural Property Solicitor role

We are currently recruiting for an Agricultural Property Solicitor, based in our A12 Commercial Hub, to support the strategic growth of Holmes & Hills’ Commercial Property service offering alongside and in partnership with the firm’s existing  Legal 500 Commercial Property team.

This role provides a unique opportunity to enhance your career working independently on your own busy caseload of high quality agricultural legal matters.  You will be advising on the full spectrum of agricultural property issues including first registrations of agricultural land, sales and purchases, tenancy agreements and issues, wayleaves, deed of easements and secured lending.  The role will also involve liaising with the wider firm in providing farming partnership advice and succession planning. 

You will have a proven track record in delivering expert legal advice and high service levels to clients across a breadth of all areas of Agricultural Property law.  You will be advising a range of clients including farmers, agricultural land owners and other rural clients.

What experience do I need?

You must be a qualified solicitor (at least 2 years + PQE) and able to demonstrate:

  • Solid experience in agricultural and rural property work including sales and purchases of agricultural land, first registration, rural acquisitions, landlord and tenant relationships, agricultural tenancies, share and contract farming agreements, deeds of easements and secured lending.
  • Experience in Business Development so that you can utilise our existing client and professional contact relationships and successfully building both the firm’s and your own reputation as a Specialist Agricultural Property law expert within the regional marketplace.
