National recognition for Holmes & Hills’ Planning Law solicitors

Planning Magazine is the primary publication for planning professionals in the UK and its annual survey lists the leading planning lawand barristers as identified by planning professionals across the country. This year, for the first time, Holmes & Hills’ Planning & Development Team was recognised by the survey as one of the leading teams of Planning Solicitors in the UK.

Upon release of the survey results David Whipps, Head of Holmes & Hills Solicitors' Planning & Development Team, said:

“The team and I are extremely pleased to have been recognised in Planning Magazine’s annual survey for the first time alongside some of the country’s largest law firms.  This is a real testament to the quality of specialist advice and guidance we provide our clients and recognises the complexity of work undertaken by the team in the past year. Our clients always want to ensure they are working with good advisors and recognition such as this gives them this confidence when approaching Holmes & Hills.”

This latest announcement follows the team having become the only planning solicitors in Essex to be recognised for their specialist services by both Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500, two independent directories of the UK’s leading law firms.

Holmes & Hills' team of expert Planning Law solicitors for developers, large commercial entities and local authorities across the South East and East Anglia. In 2013 the team grew from three solicitors to five, being joined by Tom McPhie, a highly experienced planning solicitor who has previously held senior positions in planning teams within both the private and public sector, and Michael Harman, who with his litigation background assists Steven Hopkins in contentious planning and property matters.

2014 looks set to be equally as exciting for the team with plans for them to organise their annual series of Planning Law Updates for planning and property professionals from the public and private sector. Consisting of 7 dates and taking place at venues across Essex and Suffolk the series attracts a growing number of attendees each year, reaching 220 in 2013. The team also has a number of speaking slots including delivering training to the Institute of Highways Engineers at their annual conference in Birmingham.
