A guide to settlement agreements for employers

As an Employment Law specialist at Holmes & Hills Solicitors I am regularly asked about settlement agreements by employers seeking an amicable means of ending an employment relationship, one that avoids expensive litigation, high legal fees and tribunals.

I am an advocate of settlement agreements as an effective means of bringing about an amicable end to an employment relationship and I believe that many employers might have avoided otherwise litigious employment cases had they been aware of settlement agreements as an option or been properly informed as to their benefits and how to go about offering one and ensuring it is binding.

With this in mind I have produced a Guide to Settlement Agreements for employers, providing an overview of settlement agreements, when and how they can be offered to employees, what is often included in the settlement agreement and issues to be aware of when considering using one.

At Holmes & Hills we provide Employment Law advice to employers across Essex and Suffolk. You can see a full list of the services we provide employers by viewing the Employment Law advice for Employers page.

Holmes & Hills Solicitors have five offices across Essex and Suffolk, these are located in Braintree, Sudbury, Halstead, Tiptree and Coggeshall.
