 Holmes & Hills Solicitors is recruiting a Digital Marketing & PR Executive to join its growing Marketing Team and play a pivotal role in promoting Blackwater Law, a brand of medical negligence solicitors, operated by Holmes & Hills LLP.

The position provides an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen interest and experience in digital marketing to take ownership of a digital marketing and digital PR strategy from inception through to implementation, applying their skills and expertise in a competitive marketplace. Blackwater Law is a national brand that represents clients across England and Wales, competing against some of the UK’s largest law firms.

The Digital Marketing and PR Executive will collaborate with the Head of Business Development in setting budgets and work to implement agreed plans and achieve agreed goals with a high degree of day-to-day autonomy.

Job description

This full-time position will be responsible for working closely with the Business Development Manager to plan and execute a digital marketing strategy for the Blackwater Law brand. This will include:

The Digital Marketing and PR Executive will also produce reports (reduced in scope) relating to the performance of the Holmes & Hills website and digital performance for management’s consideration and from time to time, the Digital Marketing and PR Executive will be asked to provide input and guidance in relation to these wider digital activities for Holmes & Hills. The focus of the role however will very much be on digital marketing and digital PR activities in support of the promotion of the Blackwater Law brand and medical negligence services.

The role does not require previous knowledge of the law, medicine or the medical negligence claim marketplace, although any previous experience working with organisations in these areas (in-house or agency) would be considered advantageous.  

The position will be based at Holmes & Hills Solicitors’ head office in Braintree, Essex. The successful candidate will report to the firm’s Head of Business Development, but will also be liaising with lawyers in the Medical Negligence Team at all levels.

This is a full-time role equating to 37 hours per week 09:00-17:30 Monday to Thursday and 09:00-17:00 on Friday.

Person specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • 3+ years digital marketing and SEO experience (agency or in-house)
  • Excellent written English skills
  • Google certification (Adwords and/or Display)
  • The ability to garner useful and actionable insight from raw data and digital marketing tool reports
  • Excellent working knowledge of SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics and Webmaster Tools
  • An ability to think creatively about messaging and targeting
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word and Outlook)

The successful candidate will be comfortable working autonomously and be able to manage and prioritise tasks effectively.
