In Middlesbrough, a £200 million hospitality and residential scheme has been approved which is considered to be essential for the towns future prosperity and growth of local businesses.
The regeneration scheme will introduce four buildings to the site, ranging from three to eleven storey buildings to include 244 rental apartments, 460 student bedsits and 210 hotel keys, the Marriot Hotel. All streets will be named after gemstone, which has expired the proposed materials across the site. The site was classed as a derelict brownfield site in need of regeneration.
The aim of the scheme is to attract private sector investment and to secure additional jobs.
The site has an existing frontage to Linthorpe Road, near the university campus.
