Nathan deals with all aspects of costs during and following the settlement of claims, with a particular focus on high-value and complex clinical negligence and serious injury matters.
Nathan is a Senior Costs Draftsman in Holmes & Hills Solicitors’ Legal 500 recommended Clinical Negligence and Serious Injury Department, where he has responsibility for advising on complex multi-track claims. His current work focusses on drafting high-value Bills of Costs, preparing and updating costs budgets, advising on costs strategy, and maximising costs recovery through negotiation, detailed assessment and settlement.
Nathan joined Holmes & Hills in September 2018 as the firm’s in-house costs draftsman for the Clinical Negligence and Serious Injury team, advising on costs throughout the lifecycle of complex claims.
Prior to joining the firm, he gained experience at a regional practice, advising on Claimant costs across personal injury and clinical negligence claims, including the preparation of detailed Bills of Costs and negotiations through to settlement. Nathan also gained experience at a leading London costs consultancy, working on complex multi-track clinical negligence claims, legal aid immigration matters and Court of Protection cases, undertaking all aspects of Claimant costs work including budgeting, CCMCs and negotiations.
Nathan is based at Holmes & Hills Solicitors' regional Head Office - the A12 Commercial Hub - in Colchester (Marks Tey).
