Holmes & Hills Solicitors Announces May 2026 Promotions, Strengthening Leadership Across the Firm

Holmes & Hills Solicitors is pleased to announce a significant round of promotions effective 1 May 2026, recognising the contribution, progression and leadership of colleagues across the firm.

This year’s promotions reflect continued investment in strengthening senior leadership, developing specialist expertise, and supporting the firm’s long-term growth strategy across its key service areas.

The promotions are as follows:

Partner

Alexander Garrett
Alexander’s promotion to Partner recognises his expertise within the Family Law Department and his strong track record advising clients on complex and sensitive matters. It also highlights his technical capability and his contribution to the firm’s continued growth.

Since joining Holmes & Hills in 2022, Alexander has played a key role in supporting the development of the Family team and the continued growth of the Witham office. He has been instrumental in driving local business development initiatives, including the launch of Business golf mornings and Networking events for professionals in Witham, further strengthening the firm’s relationships within the local business community.

HR Director

Ellie Fletcher
Ellie’s promotion to HR Director recognises her leadership of the firm’s people strategy, supporting continued growth and development across the business. She plays a central role in shaping the firm’s culture, recruitment, and retention.

Since joining the firm, Ellie has led the development of a comprehensive suite of HR policies and procedures and implemented a robust recruitment process to attract high-quality candidates. She has also strengthened the firm’s family-friendly policies, including enhanced maternity provision, and introduced the firm’s first Colleague Engagement Survey.

In addition, Ellie has enhanced internal communications through HR newsletters and, with her team, developed a structured annual programme of training and events, supporting colleagues across the business.

Legal Director

Laura Gale
Laura’s promotion to Legal Director recognises her seniority and expertise, as well as her leadership of the firm’s Commercial Property Department. She plays a central role in advising commercial clients and ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality legal advice across the team.

Senior Associates

Cate Cussell (Head of New Build Department)
Abbie Chisnall (Construction Department)
Jamie Robinson (Residential Conveyancing Department)

These promotions to Senior Associate recognise their continued development, technical strength, and growing leadership within their respective teams. Cate’s additional role as Head of New Build reflects the firm’s continued focus on strengthening this key service area.
