Benjamin is a rural and agricultural property specialist, supporting landowners, farming families, estates, rural businesses, and private clients across Essex, Suffolk, and the wider East Anglian region. He advises on a broad range of property matters connected to rural land, agricultural property assets, and countryside estates, combining technical property expertise with a practical understanding of the issues affecting rural clients.

Benjamin regularly works with private individuals, farming partnerships, landed estates, trusts, companies, and other landholding structures. His work includes advising on rural and agricultural property matters such as:

• Sales and purchases of farms, agricultural land, rural property, and bare land
• Landlord and tenant matters involving rural and agricultural property
• Voluntary first registrations of unregistered rural land
• Transfers of land, assents, and transfers of equity

Benjamin’s rural property work is often closely linked to wider family, succession, tax, estate, and business considerations. He takes time to understand each client’s long-term objectives, whether that is protecting family land, enabling the next generation to take over, preparing land for future use, or ensuring rural assets are dealt with efficiently as part of a wider estate. This means Benjamin works closely with colleagues advising on Wills, trusts, estate administration, succession planning, and related private client matters.

Benjamin has been working in the legal industry for over a decade and joined Holmes & Hills in 2023, having gained comprehensive experience in family-run, regional, and London law firms. He is based at the firm’s A12 Commercial Hub in Colchester (Marks Tey).
