CHRISSIE PARKEs
Working in partnership with contractors, contract managers and project managers.

Chrissie is a solicitor in Holmes & Hills’ Legal 500-recommended Construction Department and was named one of the Top 100 Women in Construction 2025 by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), an annual award recognising women making a significant impact across the construction sector.

She is also the Treasurer of the Constructing Excellence Essex Club, having been nominated to the role in January 2024 and continuing to serve in that capacity.

Chrissie advises on both contentious and non-contentious construction matters, supporting contractors, sub-contractors, contract and project managers, quantity surveyors, and architects to protect their commercial interests throughout the lifecycle of a construction project.

She regularly advises clients where:

  • Projects are delayed
  • Defective works are identified or argued
  • Payments are disputed
  • Adjudication claims are being issued, defended, or enforced
  • Construction contracts require drafting or amendment

Chrissie has successfully led numerous adjudications and enforcement proceedings, recovering substantial sums for clients in payment disputes. Known for her practical, commercially focused advice, she helps clients navigate disputes while remaining aligned with the realities of live construction projects. Reflecting her expertise and approach, Chrissie has been seconded by a large contractor to attend its office one day per month to provide on-site, real-time legal support on current and future projects.

In addition, Chrissie undertakes a wide range of non-contentious construction work, including:

  • Drafting bespoke construction contracts
  • Reviewing and advising on contractual terms in clear, accessible language
  • Delivering training to clients, alongside the Construction Department, to help them manage risk and protect their businesses

Chrissie is based at Holmes & Hills Solicitors' regional Head Office - the A12 Commercial Hub - in Colchester (Marks Tey).
