Millie Cook

Millie is a Solicitor in Holmes & Hills’ specialist and Legal 500 recommended Planning Law Department. Millie supports and provides expert planning law advice to clients in both the private and public sectors including property owners, consultants and local planning authorities requiring expert Planning Law advice.

Millie provides general and strategic advice on all aspects of planning law including:

• The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Regulations.
• Certificates of Lawfulness (of existing and proposed use or development).
• Planning Appeals.
• Permitted Development Rights.
• Statutory Challenges and Judicial Reviews in both the High Court and Court of Appeal.
• Breaches of planning and listed building control.

Millie is very personable and empathetic when dealing with clients, but also takes a pragmatic approach enabling her to provide practical, detailed and proactive legal advice tailored to each matter.

Millie has been and continues to be a speaker at Holmes & Hills’ annual Planning Law Updates, a widely regarded series of seminars across Essex and Suffolk. These seminars attract more than 400 attendees each year, including developers, planning consultants, architects, surveyors and local authority planning officers.

Millie is based at the firm's Colchester (Marks Tey) office.
