Abbie mainly works with main contractors and sub-contractors and, as part of the wider Construction Department, supports the firm’s construction clients on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious construction law matters.
As an Associate in Holmes & Hills' Legal 500 Recommended Construction Department, Abbie works closely with fellow Construction Law specialists, Sam Bawden and Lawrence Pearce. Together, the Construction Department ensures clients’ commercial interests are protected at every stage of a construction project, whether beginning, managing, concluding, or disputes arising from construction contracts.

Abbie has been involved in numerous adjudications across a wide range of issues, including payment disputes, delay claims, and design-related matters, arising on both interim and final accounts. She regularly supports clients throughout the adjudication process, from early case assessment and strategy through to preparation of submissions and enforcement, providing commercially focused and practical advice at every stage.
In addition to dispute resolution, Abbie works alongside colleagues in the Construction Division to deliver tailored training to senior leadership and management teams within construction businesses. This training focuses on identifying, managing, and minimising legal risk throughout the lifecycle of construction contracts and projects Abbie also advises clients pre-signing of contracts to undertakes contract review to ensure clients understand their obligations and to highlight any risks that exist in the contract.
Abbie has specialised in Construction Law since qualifying as a solicitor in 2021. Abbie joined Holmes & Hills after training and gaining invaluable exposure and experience being a member of a specialist construction team at a highly regarded London-based law firm, where she had been mainly assisting social housing providers on contentious construction matters.
Abbie joined Holmes & Hills Solicitors in June 2022 following working as a construction solicitor within the large construction department of a London law firm. Abbie is based at Holmes & Hills’ A12 Commercial Hub, Colchester (Marks Tey).
