Rebecca Cook is a Tax Senior at Holmes & Hills Solicitors working with the large Department of Private Client Lawyers at the firm.
Rebecca works closely with members of Holmes & Hills’ Private Client Department and is responsible for completing tax returns in situations where they are required, for example personal lifetime returns, complex estate administration and for our Trusts clients. Rebecca will be solely responsible for preparing and submitting any tax returns and will also be Holmes & Hills Solicitors main correspondent with HMRC for correspondence or queries.
Rebecca has over 25 years of experience in accountancy across several different law firms, accountancy practices and financial advisors as well as being Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualified.

Megan works with Holmes & Hills clients to plan for their futures and their loved ones' futures, or deal with the death and estate of a family member.
As a member of the Holmes & Hills' Private Client Department, Megan specialises in writing and updating Wills and advising on and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Megan prides herself on her approachable, friendly and professional manner, and at what is often a difficult time for clients, Megan strives to make her clients feel at ease and comfortable.
Having qualified in 2020 at another local law firm and working in the locality briefly before spending some time abroad, Megan returned to Essex and joined Holmes & Hills’ Private Client Department in 2025.

Amy Miller is the conveyancing Post-Exchange Lead at Holmes & Hills Solicitors, and is responsible for the management of other Post-Exchange staff, in addition to her own day to day responsibilities.
Amy’s role as Post Exchange Lead consists of helping clients through the last stages of selling/buying residential property, from exchange of Contracts through to post-completion. Amy also deals with more complicated completions involving transfers of equity and remortgages.
Amy adopts a friendly and professional approach with every client, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish. She provides helpful support and maintains professionalism throughout every stage of the transaction process.
Amy has nearly a decade of residential property experience and has worked at Holmes & Hills since 2021.

Tara is a trainee solicitor in Holmes & Hills' Private Client Department, and works closely with Executive Senior Associate Zara Fletcher.
Tara takes a proactive approach in assisting with matters such as drafting and updating Wills , assisting with Estate Administration, and advising clients in relation to Lasting Powers of Attorney.

As a trainee solicitor in Holmes & Hills’ Legal 500 recommended Family Law Department, Fiona works closely with associate Sarah Holbrook.
On a day to day basis, Fiona will assist the firms family law solicitors in providing specialist guidance on Family Law matters such as divorce, separation and child arrangements.
Fiona prides herself on her approachable, personable and proactive approach, and communicates information both clearly and concisely to her clients.
Prior to joining Holmes & Hills Solicitors, Fiona achieved a first-class honours degree in LLB Law at Staffordshire University. She then completed her Legal Practice Course (LPC) combined with a Master of Laws (LLM) at Birmingham City University, achieving a distinction. Fiona has previous experience working in Family Law, with a focus on legal aid and domestic abuse cases, as well as residential conveyancing and shared ownership transactions.

Bethany is a solicitor in Holmes & Hills' Private Client Department, works closely with senior chartered legal executive Andrew East as well as partner and head of Department Mark Cornell on trust matters.
Bethany specialises in advising clients on matters such as setting up and terminating trusts, estate administration, trust deed drafting and stand-alone trust advice. As well as this, she assists with matters such as drafting and updating Wills and advising clients in relation to Lasting Powers of Attorney.
She prides herself on her approachable and personal approach. Reliable and dedicated, Bethany ensures clear and consistent communication between her and her clients.
Bethany completed her LPC at the BPP University in Cambridge in 2023 and joined Holmes and Hills Solicitors in September 2023 as a part of the firm's trainee solicitor intake. Bethany is based at Holmes & Hills’ Braintree office.
Amelia is a solicitor within Holmes & Hills' Private Client Department, working alongside partner and head of Department Mark Cornell.
Amelia’s primary focus is preparing a variety of deputyship applications to the Court of Protection for vulnerable people. As well as submitting deputyship orders, Amelia can support clients with any additional issues that may arise during the Court of Protection procedures or as a result of the lack of capacity of a loved one.
Amelia can also advise deputies to their duties and responsibilities, as well as being able to provide any witness statements that may be required. In addition to assisting clients through the Court of Protection process, Amelia advises clients on matters such as establishing Lasting Powers of Attorney for both their property and financial affairs plus their health and welfare matters.
As a member of Lifetime Lawyers, Amelia has undertaken an additional programme specifically centred around working with vulnerable and older clients. She is currently working towards becoming an accredited member.

Emily prides herself on being professional and sympathetic as well as ensuring the legal side of bereavement is dealt with in the correct way. Emily builds strong relationships with her clients and understands that dealing with the legalities surrounding a bereavement is often daunting but with her expertise, she can assist in these difficult times by providing advice and a way forward.
She has a wealth of experience in the Private Client Department, having started secretarial work in the Department in 2017. Since joining Holmes & Hills in 2016 as an archiving apprentice, then being promoted to secretary, then legal assistant, then paralegal to today, Emily is a testament to the career progression offered by Holmes & Hills.
Emily qualified as an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) this year and is continuing in her studies to eventually become a Chartered Legal Executive.
